About
Crossed Out Student Ministries exists as a part of the Family Ministries of Sun Valley Church, to enhance and further its purpose: "to purposefully partner with families in every facet of life to cultivate a biblical pattern for marriage and family life, within the spiritual family of believers at SVC as a local member of the universal Body of Christ."
To this end, Crossed Out has taken this mission in its endeavor to meaningfully and biblically magnify Christ at SVC and beyond: "Crossed Out Student Ministries exists as an expression of Sun Valley Church's Family Ministries, to purposefully partner with parents to cultivate biblical discipleship with their students, and to challenge students to lives of Christ-centeredness in all things."
Our vision is that our students and young adults would be God-centered people who love, cherish, and depend on Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, hope of eternal life, and the gift of drawing near to Him in prayer throughout everyday life. We strive to come alongside students in a Christ-exalting way, that they may be Bible-saturated, truth-living, Great Commission-pursuing young people who are willing to lay down their lives in service to the supreme King. This is what it means to be "crossed out" (see Galatians 2.20).
We spend our Sunday mornings walking verse-by-verse and section-by-section through whole books of the Bible, discovering the truly amazing - and we mean "amazing" - reality of lives consumed and satisfied by Christ as we embrace the life-altering, transforming Gospel of the one true God. Wednesday evenings are spent hanging out together, playing games, and exploring various life-issues from a biblical perspective. In an ever-increasing world of postmodernism characterized in part by moral and philosophical relativism, coming together to pursue the cultivation of a worldview grounded in ultimate reality is essential. So please join us for these weekly gatherings, where you can also get more information about exciting, refreshing events designed to deepen our fellowship and outreach.
Crossed Out Student Ministries meets on Sundays from 9:00-10:15 am, directly before the 10:30 corporate worship service. Also, we meet Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:45 pm at our Crossed Out Student Ministries house at 1819 E Mead Avenue; Union Gap, WA 98903.
