WHAT'S A SERVICE LIKE?

GOSPEL CENTERED

At Sun Valley Church we are about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every week we center our services around the Gospel so that we might live Grace-Driven, and Mission-Minded lives.

LOCATION AND SERVICES

We gather corporately every Sunday at 2002 E Mead Ave. Sunday morning worship services are at 8 AM and 10:45 AM. Our Sunday Seminar classes are in between the services starting at 9:30 AM.

ORDER OF WORSHIP

At Sun Valley Church the main means of discipleship happens on Sunday mornings when we gather for corporate worship and a time of age specific teaching in our Sunday Seminar classes.

Each week our service is structured to mirror the rhythm of God’s action in our lives – He reveals Himself to us and we respond. When we see who God is and what he has done, we are reminded of who we are and the grace and mercy available to us in Jesus. It is our hope that you see who God is through Sun Valley Church and that you experience the heart of the Gospel: God is holy. I am sinful. Jesus is my savior.

PREACHING

Every week we preach the Gospel. While you may learn things about how to improve your marriage, become a better father/mother and the like, that is not really the point. Without Jesus, nothing matters. Only Jesus can truly make us better, and only true fullfillment can come fom Jesus. Because of this we teach from the Bible every week. We go through books of the bible, verse by verse, so that we can be changed by God's Word. The scripture is all about Jesus and that is what we need to hear.

At Sun Valley Church the sermons are long. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God, which is the Bible. This is why we preach it, teach it, and read it so often in our gatherings, so that people might hear and believe. All of our sermons are available online.

SUNDAY SEMINARS

Sunday Seminars are the primary biblical teaching ministry at Sun Valley Church outside of corporate worship. They are designed to offer growth across every stage of Christian development. The plan of God for His people can be simply (though not simplistically!) seen by looking at the words of the Apostle Paul to the believers at Colossae:

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in HIm, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2.6-7

The seminars happen every Sunday between our two services from 9:30-10:30am in the gym. We offer age specific seminars for K-5th graders, Students from 6th-12th grades and we typically have more than one adult seminar running at one time to offer a wide variety of options for you to choose from through out the year. SUN VALLEY KIDS

Every Sunday our goal is to help parents raise kids who love Jesus. Sun Valley Kid's goal is to partner with parents in helping children build a strong foundation for a lifetime of glorifying God. Each Sunday your child will learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way.

What to expect

On Sunday morning we provide classes and care for children form birth up through the 6th grade. The Sunday Seminar classes are all held in the church gym area. You can check in your children at the check-in window just through the gym entrance. Classes go from 9:30-10:30am.

During the Service

We provide loving child care during our worship service for our families. Children from infancy through kindergarten are nurtured, taught, and loved during our worship hour. We encourage our families with children in first grade or older to sit together during our worship service. We believe that instruction in corporate worship should begin at a very young age.
