What happens on Sundays?

We are a young congregation.  The majority of our attendees are in young families and we also have a representation of the more "seasoned" saints. On any given Sunday we will have 200 to 225 in attendance.
Our Worship
Our worship is a blend of scripture reading, prayer, confession, song, and the exposition of God's word.  God calls us to gather in His presence to worship Him.  We have a blend of old hymns and some contemporary songs.  Our goal is to be God centered and Christ exalting in our worship.

Sun Valley is a diverse congregation, with the majority of our attendees being young familes.  We also have strong representation of the more "seasoned" saints.  On average, we see about 200-225 people in attendance.

Our worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. so you will want to come a few minutes early to ensure a good seat. We usually fill up fairly fast!

We do take an offering every Sunday but we want you to know that we don't expect our guests to give. Our giving is a form of worship and is designed for those who call Sun Valley Church their church home.

Our Worship

God calls us to gather in His presence to worship Him and that worship takes many different forms. Our worship is filled with scripture reading, prayer, confession, singing, and the exposition of God's word.   The songs we sing are a blend of old hymns (many re-written) and some contemporary songs.  Our goal is to be God exalting and Christ centered and gospel-saturated in our worship.

Our Sermons

Our sermons are expository, meaning that they declare the main point of the passage, not the pastor's thoughts, vision, topics or what the perceived felt needs of the culture are. Generally our sermons last about 30-40 minutes. We are currently studying through the Gospel of John.

We observe the sacrament of the Lord's Supper twice per month. Once on the first Sunday worship service and once at our "Agape Meal" on the third Sunday evening. We also observe baptisms whenever the need arises. We regularly recite different Creeds of the Church (see "what we believe" page) that reflect our beliefs, such as the Apostle's Creed.

Our Dress

Man looks on the outward appearance but God looks on the heart. We want you to be comfortable when you attend so wear what you feel comfortable in. Our pastor will preach in anything from jeans to dockers and casual shirts.

Child Care

We provide loving child care during our worship service for our families. Children from infancy through kindergarten are nurtured, taught, and loved during our worship hour. We encourage our families with children in first grade or older to sit together during our worship service. We believe that instruction in corporate worship should begin at a very young age.

After the Service

We encourage our people to stay after the service and discuss the service with their friends. We also encourage our people to be friendly to our guests. If you are a guest at Sun Valley Church be aware that we usually have numerous guests every week and we encourage you to stop by the Welcome Table and pick up a small gift we have prepared especially for you. We encourage you to introduce yourself to as many people as possible. We provide refreshments before and after the service to assist our fellowship.
